The most recent Dressage saddle in the Thornhill line, the Zurich takes its inspiration from the Swiss Roosili. Generously flocked wool panels are of the correct conformation to cushion a more "at risk" style of back and wither (where the spine& wither is much closer to the surface and the muscling & flesh is thinner than a cob style horse.) For the rider, this saddle offers comfort and security. Wide enough to properly support the female pelvis, with a narrow twist, the sculpted tree and panels allow the rider's legs to fall away from the pelvis. The alignment is such that even a beginner won't have to struggle for the proper position in this saddle. Because of the saddle's depth, it is best suited to riders with an average or longer thigh bone or a shorter legged rider who does most of their work at the sitting trot. This saddle accommodates riders who like a degree of bend in their knees, yet the flap is cut such that a straighter leg works equally well. Because the saddle is so generously padded, it is best to size up 1/2" in seat length unless the rider is quite thin and fine boned.
