Steve Lovatt and I met during the Society of Master Saddler's 2003 Saddlefitting Course in England.   I'd hoped to find a saddler who built cutback saddles in more than one size of tree and my inquiries resulted in our being introduced.  The other members probably thought we were speaking an strange language as we enthused about the qualities of a really good saddle seat horse.  After our return to America, I was honored by Steve asking me to represent his saddles.  In the three years we have worked together, Steve has listened carefully and has responded to my "wish lists" with wonderful new saddles and innovations.  Horses and riders alike are the beneficiaries as Steve is a Master of his art.  His standards are extraordinarily high.  The quality of his Saddlers' work is without parallel.  When it comes comparisons between any Lovatt & Ricketts saddle and another brand similarly priced, apples are oranges.  From the tree, to the leather, to the fittings, to the flocking and most of all the craftsmanship, I have yet to find another saddle which compares.  I invite you to explore and enjoy one of Steve's saddles, just as I and my horses do on a daily basis.
